Four our breakfast we went to have the famous duck noodles in Xi Men Ding.

the duck is a bit raw...maybe we are not used to it..so i wouldn't recommend it to u guys!

After that we begun our shopping trip....we went to several shopping districts...namely Gong Guan, Dong Qu and etc

We found this donut shop selling very yummydonuts~...introducing MISTER DONUT!

TAIPEI Trip 10 Sept til 15 Sept 06 : Day 3

hehe sorry guys for the delay. Here is my Day 3 schedule in Taipei as promised!...

As usual, we woke up at around 9 something and left the hotel at 10..We proceeded to DingTaiFeng 鼎泰丰 to try out the infamous Xiao Long Bao there! We went to the First Ever shop..They have branches in Singapore and HongKong too..but according to my sister, the taipei shop is the best among all!

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
The Infamous Xiao Long Bao..actually my opinion is that its quite good, but i think the Chinese restaurant in JW Marriot have the same standard as the Xiao Long Bao here..maybe its not hot enough for me

The clear chicken soup...this chicken soup is quite good! Should order this when you are there, recommended by my sister's boss

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
The Bah Chang..the rice is very soft...nice too!

After DingTaiFeng, we went to visit the C.K.S memorial Hall... As it is along the way to our next destionation, WuFenPu..a famous shopping district!

Weather isn' t very good..

We saw some of the demonstrators against the Taiwan President Chen Shui Bian there, all wearing red colour t shirt.

The LRT station is very nice..theres painting along the corridor...why can't our LRT station be like that? i wonder..

We got to Wu Fen Pu at around 12pm..its still early and the shop doesnt open til its around 1pm so what else can we do? EAT again! We saw this shop selling 鲁肉饭 so we proceeded to having our lunch before we start our shopping spree!!! hehe...Saw many of the branches already in Taipei, so we decided to give it a try!

Highly recommended...

This pork stick is heavenly..i realised that we are so deprived of pork in Malaysia!

After curing our stomach, its almost time! We go ahead with our crazy shopping trip at 1pm! WuFenPu is actually a wholesaler shopping districts, that is why the stuff here is really CHEAP! But please don't come on Monday because those shopkeepers will come on Monday to get their supply and the shops will not entertaint individual customers on Monday. The clothes there are mostly Korean/Japanese style, i wanted to buy some working clothes but did not manage to find it there.

After walking few hours, we decided to take a rest and have a drink ...its quite hard to find a cafe here..all shops are selling clothes or accessories..took us quite a while...
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Enjoying the drinks..

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
local food again..甜不辣

We were there til about 7pm i think...so exhausted okay!!!haha...but felt satisfied lah..

We decided to go back and have dinner at Xi Meng Ding as our hotel is there as well...need to put down the stuff that we bought...

And........We had Mcdonald's for dinner....hehe...

Taipei Trip 10 Sept 06 til 15 Sept 06: Day 2

The next day, we woke up feeling fresh and ready to explore the city. The breakfast provided by the hotel is very basic, therefore we chose to head out straight for local breakfast, which is the famous YongHe soyabean 永和豆浆。

Me and my sis at LRT station

The shop is quite close to the LRT station. After we arrived at Dingxi station 顶溪站,we proceeded to looking for the shop. After walking for merely 10mins, we managed to locate the shop. Maybe because its a Monday morning, there isn't many customers in the shop. We ordered a mixture of food there, but most importantly, one shouldn't miss its famous soya bean and yau char kuai.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
The soya bean is very thick, those that full of yellow beans smell...i love it but my sister don't really fancy it :P
The yau char kuai is really thin n crispy, it is indeed a very nice combination to have for your breakfast. Miss that!!!

After a full and fulfilling breakfast, we proceed to Jiufen九份, a fairly famous tourist spot. It is a town on a mountain. It has very nice scenery.

Jiufen is also very famous for its narrow street selling various local foods.

Overall, i personally think its worth going to JiuFen, at least i enjoyed myself there. However the whole journey from Taipei to JiuFen takes about 1.5 hours by bus one way..

After JiuFen, we went to Shi Lin Market 士林夜市 although we weren't really hungry yet! :P Shi Lin Market is also another tourist spot, a MUST GO to taste all the famous local food!

Taipei Trip 10Sept-15Sept 06 :Day 1

Finally i have the time to post up the photos! However, to be more organised, i think i am going to divide it to Day 1- Day5, easier for you guys to know my schedule in Taipei!

We flew with Singapore Airlines, so we gotta transit in Singapore. The flight ticket was RM1200 each, we got the tickets online from SIA's website.

Nice orchids display at Singapore Changi Airport

When we arrived at Taipei, we immediately look for taxi to send us to the hotel. However, upon enquiry, the taxi to town centre would costs NT1200, meaning around RM140, even though its pouring, we decided to take the airport bus, which will only costs about NT125 each, around RM15. Of course need to save more money on shopping what hehehe....The airport bus would only take us to TAipei Train Station, so from there we need to take a taxi to Xi Meng Ding, where we are staying. The taxi would only costs us around NT100, which is RM12. However, i did regret not taking the taxi from the airport earlier on as the rain was quite heavy when we get to Taipei Train Station and we had two big luggages with us, but luckily in the end none of us got sick because of the pouring rain! Phew....

The hotel we stayed in..the staffs there were very friendly and helpful, great location too! 5 mins walk to Xi Meng Ding LRT station

After we arrived at the hotel, we went for dinner nearby at Xi Men Ding. Went to this cafe selling pasta, turned out to be okay only but the tea they offered was great, especially after a long day.

After that we went walking around Xi Men Ding. Suddenly we saw this, the famous ah zong mian xian!

Theres no table and chairs provided, everyone have to stand there and eat...its soup is like hot & spicy soup you will get in UK..and the mian xian is really smooth...very yummy! Miss that....

After eating our supper, we went back to hotel , preparing ourselves for an early start tomorroW!

Bukit Tinggi Outings + WC & Chong Bday Dinner!

Last weekend 9 of us went to Bukit Tinggi and celebrated WC&Chong's birthday! It was again a Saturday filled with laughters and happiness. We always have fun when all of us secondary school friends gathered! Of course all these are due to Bee and Chong's effort of coming all the way from Singapore to look for us, those working in KL.

We met at Putra Terminal at around 10.30, after everyone arrived, we started our journey at about 11.15am. We reached Bukit Tinggi approximately 1 hour later and thats when all the fun begun!

The boss of the Korean restaurant was very friendly to us. He gave us two pancakes and a bottle of korean wine free. The beef, according to my friends, were heavenly! I don't eat beef so i can't comment on it. For me i love the KimChi soup, the vermicelli and the pork as well! Luckily we reserved a room, if not we will sure disturb others because we all went mad in that room!

I am looking forward to our next gathering again...maybe we should go to singapore instead? What do you think, girls and guys?

When death was so close

Last Friday i received a bad news from my mom : my uncle has passed away in Batu Pahat! The moment i heard the news,i felt devastated...We all thought that he is recovering from his operation two months ago...Mom was crying badly in the phone and wants to go back to bp as soon as possible. We rushed back to bp after work to help out with the funeral.
Most of the memories i have with my uncle was when i was still small. Sometimes i will stay overnight at his house to play with my cousins. I always like to go to his house as its so fun with my cousins around! He has always treated me with kindness and generousity. Even though he is not rich, he will always ask me to eat more during dinner time when i was at his house. He is a chatty person, always like to ask about things going on in our life.
The whole funeral was such a heartbreaking one. My auntie and my cousins were so sad especially my uncle's only daughter. She is the closest to his father. Everyday his father will send her to work and they will usually talk on the way to work. However, she told me that she didn't talk to her father on the day he passed away when he sent her to work. She told us how she wished she talked to her father on the way to work. I feel so useless as i can't ease her pain, i can only listen to her, and comfort her at the same time.
Through this experience, i realised the importance of spending time with family and taking care of them. Also, we should also take good care of our health in order to take care of our family. Life is unpredictable, we never know when is the time for us to leave the world. To leave the world without any regret and worry, we must spend our time wisely!
rest in peace my uncle and bless your family...you will always be with us in our heart...

Tiffany's Visit 25-27th Aug

One of my best friend, Hui Mean, came to KL and visit me. We had such a great time doing girlie stuff, its good to catch up again after a year's time! Even though we only meet once a year as she is still studying in UK, we will never run out of topics to talk about whenever we meet up...of course Tiffany's curious attitude contributes towards that too!:p

All the best to you Tiffany!!! Take care of yourself in UK...we will meet up again next year!!! Miss ya babe......
