My journey to HK is mostly about food and shopping! However, I did not manage to buy a lot of stuff as most of the stuff are winter clothes. Central is full of good food!!!
Mid level escalators to save you from walking on those steep roads
me@Central
I keep telling JErry that this reminds me of some scene in those tvb series, you guys reckon? Please enlighten me!!!
This street just so old skool and very LOCAL to me!I am loving it!
In this post I am going to introduce you guys to the food I've tasted around Central area, Hong Kong. These food outlets are located on Wellington Street, Central. It's not far away from the MTR station and they are all very famous.
1. Mak's Wantan Noodles
this place is famous for their wantan noodles
the menu, most of the noodles are priced at HKD30, its around SDG6, RM13-14! quite expensive.
beef noodles priced at HKD40, yummy according to Jerry
their wantan noodles, this is good! the soup is so sweet and the wantans are very fresh and huge! It's a pity that it's really small tho, it would have taken me two bowls to fill up my stomach :p
This is a place that I will return when I next visit HK
2. Yung Kee Roast Goose
interior of the restaurant- quite posh actually, and you know what posh means, more expensive!
As I haven't tasted goose before, we ordered a standard portion with rice to see if we like it. Priced at around HKD80, I don't really like the texture of goose therefore I don't know how to appreciate this dish.
we also ordered this, some dim sum with lapcheong and foe grais. What was I thinking? it's a weird combi for me.
it won some awards apparently...
Em, I probably won't return to this retaurant as it's quite expensive and not local enough for me.
3. Tai Cheong Egg Tart
I miss this so much!!! This is the BEST egg tart I've ever tasted!!!
some other pastries there
even the ex Governer came here!
BEST egg tart ever!Priced at 5HKD each , very well worth it! The center of the egg tart will melt immediately when you put it in your mouth and the crust is full of fragrant butter smell!
I regretted that only had ONE of this as we were too full from Yung Kee! WHAT A SHAME! I will definitely return to this shop when I next visit HK!
4. Liang Xiang Lou Dim Sum
poster in the shop
There are so many people! You basically have to find your own seat and sit with other people. I think there are most locals than tourists in this shop!
Beef SiewMai, Jerry loves this!
The cheongfun is so smooth!
This duck soup is a must have according to the local seated next to us so we ordered! The soup was so clear and sweet..YUM!
Waterchestnut dim sum, I miss this very much.
DEFINITELY return to this one and Highly Recommended for you guys to try it out!
Another place that we wanted to try but don't have time to do so is this place, also located on Wellington Street:
Anyone going to HK, please try it and let me know whether its worth it?
More food review coming up!
OH and I bought a new laptop from SITEX fair yesterday, blogging using my new baby, so far I have been happy with it. It's a Toshiba Satelite model, with so many free gifts! Costs SGD1399~.
