Mom’s birthday celebration at D’ Italiane, Jaya 33

At first, we were thinking of going to NeroVivo, but already gone there for a few times so it’s time for a change!

Long weekend back home in KL has been so great, full with activities including meeting up with my favourite babes from SLB!

However, the main purpose of me going back home, of course, was to celebrate Mom’s birthday with her!!!

Before going back, I went to get her a little something from all of us siblings.

Destinee Diamond Pendant from Lee Hwa Jewellery, the services there are top notch I must say!!!

Anyway, back to the celebration dinner.

Mom and I

IMG_0110

My drink – green apple, cucumber and mint ice blended! This is really good and refreshing!

IMG_0111 IMG_0112

The appetizer, one mushroom soup and pumpkin soup. Both tasted good although the pumpkin soup is better I must say.

IMG_0114

Sicilian Seafood Pizza- the crust is fragrant, so thin that it can be eaten on its own and the cheese smells great too!

IMG_0116

Scallop linguine – scallops are fresh but its a bit too oily and pepperish for me, someone else likes it tho.

IMG_0117

Seafood Ravioli – The portion is quite generous! Tasted good!

IMG_0121

Birthday cake is the green tea red bean cake from Bread Story. The first time I tasted this! This is real delicious! Totally a perfect combination!

Happy family, two missing in the UK tho

My B Day 2009 – PART 2

Yes this is the second part and final part of my B day celebration!

For B day dinner, we went to Forlino @ One Fullerton. My friend actually recommended this restaurant to me, saying that the ambience is romantic and the food is fantastic!

I was really looking forward to the dinner but I also felt very full from my B day lunch earlier!

IMG_0266

On the way to Forlino…the long walk….this is the underpass in the Fullerton Hotel

IMG_0308

dimmed staircase up to the restaurant

IMG_0267

The traditional menu which consists of the Chef’s signature dishes!

IMG_0270 IMG_0271

One of the dining rooms where we had our dinner

IMG_0272

One picture before our dinner.

We ordered one traditional menu and another main course.

IMG_0274

Complimentary Foccacia Bread from the restaurant..made by the Chef’s wife. It’s a bit too hard for my liking.

IMG_0275

Complimentary Calamari, a wee bit too oily, if not it will be perfect

IMG_0277

View outside the window..that’s the Merlion Park down there and Esplanade on the right side of the picture

IMG_0278

Appetizer: Home Cured Meat Platter -Parma Hams..love the one at the middle of first row.. its so THIN

IMG_0279

The Middle Course- Veal Ravioli. I didn’t taste it but J said it’s delicious!

IMG_0283

My Duck Pasta with Foe Grais . I love this! The amount of the sauce is just right and it’s heavenly with the taste of Foe Grais!

IMG_0284

Mama Lamb Chop from the traditional Menu. I am surprised that although its deep fried, this lamb chop does not taste dry and hard at all. What is the secret?

IMG_0285

There is cheese inside! What a brilliant idea!

IMG_0286

Then…there is also a complimentary cake from the restaurant!

IMG_0291

Me with the cake!

IMG_0290

me with the boss who foot the bill!!! People says we look alike? Do we? What do you think?

IMG_0292

His dessert: Chocolate Mouse. It’s actually very good but I was too full to finish it!

With all that, our meal was happily concluded.

IMG_0300

I simple adore the corridor! It’s so classic..!

IMG_0304

and the red couch!

Forlino is definitely recommended for special occasions as it is a bit pricey. Do give it a try if you need to celebrate anything! I believe it will become more popular as it has already gained such good publicity only after its opening for 8 months. We took a walk after the dinner and returned home after.

IMG_0325

It was a great birthday celebration for me. I am truly blessed with people who care about me…

Anyway Valentine’s Day is also coming up but I do not think we will try another fine dining again as I am craving for some down to earth food like pork ribs etc!

Well, We will see…..

My B Day 2009 (PART 1)

Don’t panic, its not my big day lah, its just my birthday!!!

As I won't be in Malaysia on my birthday, I got my birthday present from my family before the actual birthday!

IMG_0172

IT’s a pair of diamond earrings from Wah Chan!

IMG_0181

Isn’t it GORGEOUS!!! It is classic and simple design but suitable for me to wear it daily!

IMG_0186 IMG_0173

camwhoring with my new diamond necklace for anniversary gift(courtesy of dearie- he still owes me my birthday gift :p ) and my new diamond earrings! I am such a fortunate girl, Love my dear family and dearie for their sayang so much!!!

To be honest, I really did not want to celebrate my birthday this year! I mean, I have been celebrating for many years already so I thought I should keep it low toned.Well, in
the end I still celebrated it!

I decided that I should since my roommate, Mr. Lau (in case you don’t know, he is the person I share a room with in the office) organised a birthday lunch specially for me, I shall not disappoint him right!

I was pretty excited on that day and very look forward to my birthday lunch. Who knows, last minute my roommate couldn’t make it due to a client’s lunch meeting. Although they are not many of us, we still went ahead to this place “Beng Hiang”, a Hokkien chinese restaurant. Poor roommate!

IMG_0229

Beng Hiang is located at 118, Amoy Street. It is within walking distance from Raffles Place.

When we stepped inside the restaurant, it was FULL HOUSE man. Heard that its pretty famous.

IMG_0226

Favourite girls from D & N : From L to R: Siew Ling, CC and Penny!

IMG_0227

with “uncle” he is also my ex colleague, seems like we are fated to be colleague HAHA

okok , cut the crap, let me post up pictures of those sinfully delicious food!!! MUAHAHA..

IMG_0232

First up, Sea Cucumber with duck. This is damn good!

IMG_0234

see how much duck there is inside, the duck meat is really tender!

IMG_0231

This is Wu Xiang. Basically there are two types of food here, yam roll and meat roll. The yam smells really fragrant and I also love the texture of the meat roll.

IMG_0235

and …this YAM RING…is the best I’ve tasted so far! MY parents are huge fan of Yam Ring, I must bring them here the next time they come to Singapore!

IMG_0233

Fish stomach soup! The ingredients are so much! Such a healthy dish…

We also ordered a plain vegetable. Wanted to order their oyster omelette but they don’t have that during CNY. I am big fan of Oyster Omelette! I must go back to try that! YUM!

Later in the afternoon, Mr. Lau also organised a cake cutting session for me! You guys must be praising what a good roommate is he right! Actually shame of me because during his birthday last year, I was overseas due to a job assignment and I didn’t celebrate it with him. Sorry mate! :p

My Tiramisu cheesecake from Beary! Mr. Lau got it for me because I love tiramisu!

IMG_0236

Before I unwrap my cake!

IMG_0237

IMG_0240

Rest assured that I didn’t unwrap these two presents ! Introducing Mr. Chow on the right!

Turns out that Penny wants to be my present too! How fortunate am I!!! HEHEHE

IMG_0251

After all the nonsense, we get down to the business.

IMG_0245 IMG_0249

IMG_0250

IMG_0695

Happy faces, I am so glad that I found such good friends in Singapore!

IMG_0697

The man who made the birthday lunch and this small gathering possible!!! Thanks Mr. Lau, who loves his pets very much! (as shown below)

IMG_0259

Last but not least, Happy
