Ba Kut Teh in Singapore: Sin Ming Road

Had cravings for BKT last weekend in Singapore. What to do?! Did a search on www.ieatishootipost.com and found this Rong Chen Ba Kut Teh near my place. Took a taxi there, off we went! This place seems to be quite a well known place in Singapore just google it and you will know.

You Cha Guai- quite thin but not crispy enough for me. Normal only.

Pork Liver Soup- I just had a taste of it, quite sweet I must say. Clear soup again.

Pork trotter- This is one of the most ordered item, this is quite good but without the vinegar taste. I wish it has more vinegar taste tho.

You can take bus 130 to Sin Ming Road from Toa Payoh Central.

Sometimes you can't just give in to your cravings. As a result of the sinful BKT, I am back to sickness again...... It's the most horrible time to fall sick, isn't it?!
but then again I would like to have the thick soup BKT when I go back to KL next week! WAHAHA..........Maybe I deserve to be sick........:p

Hong Kong Trip Nov 08: Dessert!

I still have a few posts on HK. I just can't get enough with the food there! It's so good!

There are so many dessert places in HK, but 许留山 Xu Liu Shan is undeniably the most famous one!!!

You can find the shop almost everywhere in the city centre.

me with my mango drink 粒粒芒果爽, its very addictive!

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!
strawberry with mango, I think its quite diluted

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!
tried something new, $48 not exactly cheap, coconut bird nest dessert

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!
the real thing, its very smooth although you can't taste much bird nest, its mostly coconut flavour but not bad, I like it.

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!
mixed fruit sago dessert- This is good as well, the fruits are very fresh and the mango sorbet is real to its taste

This shop is a MUST TRY in HK needless to say!

I was also very fortunate to have been to this place recommended by Jerry's HK friends. A Teow Chow dessert shop 合成糖水in Kowloon Tong as Jerry's HK friend drove us there. If you guys really want to know the address, here it is: 香港九龙城龙岗道9号地下. It was really crowded in the shop.

this shop appears in many articles

Black glutinous rice with glutinous call, coconut milk on top. This is actually very good but I find it a tad bit too sweet for me.

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!
莲子白果+汤圆- See! There is so much ingredients, I am so amazed! priced at around SGD5 I think

On my last night in HK, we went to this dessert place in Causewaybay.

敦奶- the most popular item there! This is very yummy! The texture is very smooth and full of milk taste! and Surprisingly my tummy was alright after eating this because i normally don't take milk product! Wonder what they did to their product?

The three shops recommended above are all MUST GO when you visit HK!

Yes, more food in Hk to come in my next post, CIAO!

VPost makes me very ECSTATIC!!!

O M G....

My prayer has been answered!!! Remember I was complaining about how come website that sells pretty clothes which I like does not deliver to Asia or the shipping costs would have costs a BOMB???

The solution is here- VPOST !!! That is why I am pretty damned bloody excited now!OPPS!

With VPost, you can now shop globally at websites from USA, Europe, China, Korea and Japan!!! Just shop and get your items to be delivered to your individual assigned shipping address at those countries, and VPost will combine all the items and deliver to you at your door step!

Do you always wonder how come the branded items in the shop here costs so much higher than those selling on its original websites?! Thats' because we have been bearing the shipping and taxes for the merchants. Now we no longer need to do that!!!

Now I can shop at my favourite American brand website such as Abercrombie, Coach, eluxury etc and need not worry about the bomb I will receive due to the shipping costs!

Go register now! What are you waiting for?

With Vpost,

Hong Kong Trip Nov 08: Part 2

My food journey continues in HK. Again you will find below food that I have tasted in Hong Kong and I will tell you whether you should waste your time making a trip there! Just my honest opinion...

I always love having steamboat because I love drinking soup. When I watch TVB drama, the actor/actress always go for steamboat and I always want to try their pork bone soup base.

There you go, I tried it in HK! Went to this place called 有骨氣 as featured in brother CK's website. This place is located near, 尖沙咀 堪富利士道 11號地下至3樓(尖沙咀港鐵站A2出口) Tsim Sha Tsui station A2 exit. His website gave me some tips of my food exploration in HK.

inside the restaurant, there are three levels

can't wait to eat, I remembered how hungry I was!

Price before 9pm:99 HKD, after 9pm:78HKD, steamboat buffet

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!
for the beef lovers, remember to order this!of course the portion won't be as big as those shown in the picture but just keep ordering lah! It's buffet anyway!

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!
while waiting, take a look at what others are having first!

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!
here's ours! there are many corns and spare ribs inside the soup, making the soup sweet.

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!
our boiling pot, I've put in more corns, tomatos to make it sweeter.

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!
This is my favourite, the pork neck meat! The meat is in thin slice, so that it can be cooked properly.

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!
some special fish ball, there too many that we ordered until I can't remember what is this d..

Overall,I would recommend you to give this a try. This restaurant is popular among the locals. When we went there, there are no foreigners except us.

Jerry also wanted to try the 大排檔 street stalls in HK as he also watched too much TBV series! haha..so JErry's HK friend brought us to Temple Street 廟街 to try it out.

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!
busy and crowded temple street

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!
Turns out that his friends also never eaten at street stalls before so we randomly selected this place

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!
again I was very hungry so I ordered this pork bone porridge first. The porridge has been cooked until its like soup, very Canton style except that there are not much taste as there aren't any ingredients left in the porridge.

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!
HK street style escargots! This didn't taste very good.

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!
嗾嗾鸡, this is basically curry chicken HK style. The chicken is v tender, not bad.

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!
嚎饼 if you force me to just recommend one dish, i will recommend this. This is pretty special, but a bit too oily for the ladies.

You can't expect cleanliness and poteliness from the waiter from a street stall but what you can experienced is what the local people at Temple Street have for their dinner/ supper. Do it the HK way, they say!
